Our gaufrage printing

Our designs are primarily inspired by the Italian Renaissance, French Classicism & Oriental art. We also have some modern designs.

We print using the traditional gaufrage technique. Metallic pigments (gold & silver coloured bronze) are applied by hand to our printing blocks & then bonded to the velvet using a press which applies high heat & pressure. The embossed velvet appears in sharp relief against the unprinted velvet.

Each of our designs can be printed on any of our 20 colours of velvet using 3 finishes (antique gold, antique silver & gold+silver). Our sumptuous velvets have been bought by many prestigious clients (including various Middle Eastern palaces) & recently featured in the French film Molière.
